Half Man, Half Amazing
Born on May 16, 1983 in Olympia, Washington, Andres Gonzales brings his big personality to the tee every time he plays golf. Golf has always played a big role in his life, and it’s apparent in the joy and exuberance he brings to the table. Andres grew up playing junior golf with fellow Tour player Michael Putnam in Washington. He’s 16 days older than Putnam; and he never let him forget it. Golf is deeply rooted in his family, as well. Andres notes that he’d round out his dream foursome with his dad, Spencer Levin, and Bill Lunde.
Gonzales has spent time on the Canadian Tour, Web.com Tour, and PGA TOUR. He won the Saskatchewan Open in 2009 on the Canadian Tour, the 2012 Soboba Golf Classic on the Web.com Tour, and earned a career-best T8 finish at the 2013 Wyndham Championship on the PGA TOUR. He keeps an extremely positive and upbeat attitude on the course, noting that every single putt he makes is just as thrilling as the last. His favorite golf course is the Preserve in Monterey, California. He would most like to play Augusta National and Cypress Point.
Outside of golf, Gonzales cites marrying his wife as the biggest thrill in his life. His favorite professional sports team is the Seattle Mariners, and his favorite athlete is Chris Paul. Andres enjoys a good meal of lasagna, and his favorite vacation spot is Disney world.
Gonzales supports charities that benefit pancreatic cancer research and cure.
